Consolidated Government

The Unified Government of Georgetown-Quitman County consists of five County Commissioners who are elected "at large" and serve in Posts designated as One through Five.  The Board of Commissioners elect by majority vote a Chairman and a Vice Chairman.  The Commission as a whole hires a County Manager who, according to the Unified Government Charter, is tasked with the day-to-day operations and providing fiscal information to the Commission.  The County Manager also is tasked with formulating and recommending to the Commission an annual budget.
